Preparation for the Sacraments of Penance, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation at the Cathedral Parish
Cathedral Sacramental Preparation 2022-2023
Classes for sacramental preparation at the Cathedral Parish will begin in October. If you haven’t registered your child to receive sacraments and/or attend classes, please do so as soon as possible using the links below.

ENGLISH – SPANISH
Classes for Spanish-speaking students meet every Sunday from 1:30-2:30 PM after the Spanish Mass.
Classes for English-speaking students will meet on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 PM beginning October 4.
Families who have registered their children will receive more detailed information via email and in class.
Family Events
All Cathedral Parish families are invited to attend monthly events sponsored by the Cathedral’s Religious Education program.

Sunday, September 18: Blessing of Religious Items
- Fr. Gill will bless items for your homes. If you have a crucifix, statue, or other items you’d like blessed for your home please bring them with you.
- Introduction to Religious Education for the year.
- Light refreshments and mingling.
Sunday, October 9: Living Rosary
- Join in prayer for all our families’ intentions in the Basilica at 3:00 PM.
- Light refreshments and mingling to follow in Drexel Hall
Sunday, November 6: All Saints Celebration
- Come dressed as your favorite saint!
- Saint games, refreshments, and mingling.
- Join in praying or singing the Litany of the Saints.

Sacraments
The First Penance will be on Saturday, March 25 and Saturday, April 22, 2023
from 3:15-4:45 PM in the Cathedral Chapel.
The Sacrament of Confirmation for school age children will be on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the 11:00 AM Solemn Mass. Bishop Joseph Coffey will administer the Sacrament.
First Holy Communion will be on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the 11:00 AM Solemn Mass.
