VENERATION OF THE RELICS OF SAINT MARGARET MARY ALACOQUE IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF PHILADELPHIA

Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, July 22, 1647-October 17, 1690, was a French Visitation nun and mystic who promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in its modern form. Many mystics throughout the centuries have had apparitions of Mary around the world, while, seemingly, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque and Saint Faustina received messages from our Savior, Jesus Christ.

5:30 PM          Relics are moved to the Cathedral Basilica until 8:00 PM

This past June, as part of the Consecration of the United States to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Knights of Columbus made possible the visit of the Major (First Class) Relics of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque to the United States.

Before the Major Relics are returned to France, they will be here in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for public veneration in two locations—the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Sacre Coeur Perpetual Adoration Shrine (located on the campus of Saint Denis Parish) in Havertown.
