Preparation is available to children of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for both First Holy Communion and Confirmation, and classes are provided in English and Spanish-English bilingual formats. English-language preparation is held on Tuesday afternoons 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., and Spanish-English bilingual preparation is held Sunday mornings before the Spanish-language Mass, 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
To include your child in the reception of these sacraments at the Cathedral Basilica, please complete the following:
- Registration Form (available in English and Spanish from April 1st to June 30th)
- Children are eligible for First Holy Communion starting in 2nd grade
- Children are eligible for Confirmation starting in 7th grade
- Copies of Certificates for Sacraments Received (due October 31st)
- Letter of Eligibility for Sponsor (Confirmation Candidates Only, due October 31st))
- Letter of Permission from Parish to Receive Sacrament(s) at the Cathedral Basilica (Non-Cathedral Parish Participants Only, due October 31st))
- Verification from DRE or principal of participation in the appropriate sacramental preparation or religious education program* (due October 31st)
